Welcome to Teasdale Aviation Art
Steve was born in County Durham in 1965. From an early age he was interested in all things aviation, spending many hours making model aeroplane kits and suspending them from his bedroom ceiling in dogfight scenarios. At 18 years old Steve left school with A-levels in Art & Ceramics to study an Art Foundation course at Sunderland Polytechnic. Steve then went on to gain a Batchelor of Arts with Honours Degree at Stourbridge College of Technology and Art. He then worked as a glass designer for a variety of firms and studios whilst exhibiting his art glass in Germany and Holland. In 1993, Steve decided upon a career in teaching, gaining a Certificate of Education at the university of Northumbria at Newcastle. He currently works as a full time teacher of Art and Design Technology in a large secondary school.
Steve sold his first original drawing when he was 12 years old and he regularly supplemented his student income with commissions for his animal drawings. In 2001, Steve started selling his aviation artwork through the publishers Artistic Flight with whom he still maintains close links. In 2003 he began to exhibit his work at airshows with CCB Aviation Books and Prints. Steve has also worked with Vector Fine Art, including a very successful limited edition print launch for the 60th anniversary of the Great Escape.
Steve has established a wide range of contacts and friendships with veterans of the Battle of Britain and other areas of aviation. He also maintains close contact with the RAF and many main dealers of rare aviation autographs around the world. Steve has become renowned for his affordable, high quality, multi-signed pencil prints, with rare and collectable signatures, which are unlikely to be repeated.
Steve has also become one of the leading portrait artists in his field, producing high-quality pencil drawings of famous aviators and personalities, with rare and historical signatures. He is always striving to produce the ultimate collector's item and his recent work includes portraits (with original signatures) of Erwin Rommel, Herman Goering, Lord Dowding, Keith Park, Baron Von Richthofen, Douglas Bader, Gerhard Barkhorn, Erich Hartmann and many more.
Steve's work has attracted collectors in South Africa, Germany, Australia, Canada, the USA as well as the UK and he is becoming widely recognised as an artist to be admired.
Steve is regularly exhibiting his new work with CCB at the Duxford airshows in Cambridge and he is always willing to greet new and existing collectors. |
